911 Dispatchers Awarded Golden Heart Coins For Saving Christiansburg Man’s Life
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) Two Montgomery County dispatchers have been awarded golden heart coins after helping save a man’s life.
A few months ago, Andrew Raines and Anthony Harmon got a call that someone was having a heart attack. They got Christiansburg Rescue to the scene and the EMT’s were able to get the man to a Cath Lab in less than 90 minutes. Their speed saved that man’s life.
“It’s great to know that we were able to use EMD protocol and able to get the information to the rescue squad quick,” Andrew Raines said.
“To be able to provide life saving information and save someone’s life, that’s why we do this job,” Anthony Harmon added.
For both the eight and 13 year veterans, this was the first time either one of them had ever received a golden heart coin.
